CAA Boiler MACT Laboratory Services

Facilities complying with the CAA Section 114 request to characterize boiler emissions need reliable and defensible data to ensure regulatory acceptance.

Enthalpy's NELAC-accredited lab provides low detection limits, unmatched experience and a variety of analytical methods for pollutants regulated by the Boiler MACT.

Whether it's particulate matter (PM), condensable particulate matter (CPM), HCl/HF or formaldehyde, Enthalpy brings you the benefit of sampling and analytical experience gained through supporting thousands of testing projects in the last sixteen years.

PM10/PM2.5 by OTM-027

  • Cyclonic separation of filterable particles. Enhances M201A to include PM2.5. Gravimetric analysis with six-place balance for accuracy and precision required by the new methods.

Condensable Particulate Matter (CPM) by OTM-028

  • Dry impinger method designed to eliminate the bias associated with sulfate formation in Method 202 samples. Replaces M202 for CPM.

Hydrogen chloride & Hydrogen fluoride by EPA Methods 26 & 26A

  • Also HBr, Cl2, Br2. Analysis by HPLC/IC. Onsite FTIR (M320) available for HCl/HF/HBr provides near real-time data for process fine-tuning.

Formaldehyde by EPA Method 320 (FTIR), SW-846 Method 0011, or NCASI ISS/FP A105.01

  • Onsite FTIR for immediate results, or in-lab by HPLC or GC/NPD. Enthalpy ships M0011 (DNPH) and A105.01 (BHA) reagents, spikes and supplies with one day advance notice.

Methane by EPA Method 18, EPA Method 320 (FTIR)

  • Methane by Method 18 Tedlar bags or onsite GC/FID. Also available by onsite FTIR (typically in conjunction with other FTIR analytes.)

Contact Bryan Tyler (ext. 250) or Jordan Laster (ext. 300) to discuss analytical options applicable to the new Boiler MACT.
