How Enthalpy Differs from Other Environmental Labs:
• A set of air samples often contains large ranges
of concentrations. Enthalpy is equipped to recognize and appropriately
handle these wide ranges.
• Air test methods often require triplicate injections.
Air quality labs are aware of this and treat it as standard practice.
The triplicate injection requirement for both calibration gases
and sample gases can increase the rates for air analyses.
• Air quality labs must maintain a very well
developed quality system compared to other types of environmental
labs. Because air matrices tend to be varied and complex, the amount
of QA input for each sample is typically greater than for a water
effluent or IH type lab. Enthalpy understands this and, as a result,
has 1 QA person for every 3.5 analysts, and 1 report writer for
every 4 analysts.
• EPA guidance and state regulations require
a very detailed report. Enthalpy reports every bit of information
any reviewer would need to reproduce our results. These reports
often are hundreds and even thousands of pages. In addition, we
take the time to compile and double-check all these data. While
stack test reports often may get through agencies with only summary
analytical data as an appendix, it's not unusual for the agency
to request all appropriate documentation when questions about the
results arise. To ensure a seamless process, we include up front
all data for review.
• Enthalpy has over 65 man-years of stack testing
experience in the field. Many of Enthalpy's senior environmental
staff are ex-stack testers with extensive experience performing
on-site sample collection and analysis for most EPA air test methods.
This experience is invaluable because different industries, source
types or target analytes can exhibit unique or unexpected issues
at any point in a testing project.
• Enthalpy specializes in EPA Method 18 analysis.
Our owners have performed and analyzed Method 18 for 17 years, making
our lab the most experienced and knowledgeable in the industry.
Many of Enthalpy's top people have more than 10 years of experience
dealing with M18 projects. We process hundreds of M18 samples each
and every month.
